Inchcape is responsible for importing Jaguar, Land Rover, and Mazda vehicles in Finland and the Baltic countries. Inchcape seeks reliability in spare parts logistics through a dependable logistics partner.
Logent manages Inchcape’s spare parts logistics and warehousing services at the logistics center in Vantaa. The warehousing service covers material reception, storage, picking, and dispatching from the Hakkila logistics center. The collaboration began in spring 2023.
– Today’s supply chain challenges cause delays, so speed, reliability, and trustworthiness in local operations are of utmost importance. – We have made many changes in our import operations recently regarding spare parts logistics. One major change has been transitioning to a new ERP system. Logent was heavily involved in providing ideas on which direction the development should take to make our collaboration as simple and smooth as possible, Laukkanen continues.
According to Laukkanen, a combination of traditional and modern storage has proven to be an effective solution for Inchcape.
– The traditional side is represented by pallet racking, which typically stores more challenging parts, such as windshields, body panels, fenders, and other heavy products. The modern side is represented by automation, which handles over half of the products we store.
Laukkanen emphasizes that Logent has both the capability and willingness to adapt strongly to customer needs.
– Logent has so far demonstrated a clear customer-oriented approach. Our wishes are listened to, and Logent also provides its own suggestions on how business can be developed, including from a cost-efficiency perspective, Pekka Laukkanen summarizes.
