After more than fifteen years at Logent, Key Account Manager Mikael Myntti has seen the company grow, the logistics industry evolve and customer relationships develop over time. What has kept him inspired throughout the journey is the trust, freedom and opportunities to grow alongside the company.
When Mikael Myntti joined Logent in August 2011, he had no idea he was embarking on a journey that would last well over a decade. Yet those first days in the port remain vivid in his memory.
“Normally there would have been thousands of cars waiting to be handled or shipped, but that day there was just one. It definitely made me wonder what on earth I’d signed up for,” he recalls with a smile.
Today, Mikael is one of the Logent employees who has witnessed both the company’s growth and the transformation of the logistics industry from close quarters. During fifteen years in Logent’s Ports & Terminals business, he has worked in sales, site management, business development and key account management.
His path to Logent came about by chance. During a period between jobs, he attended a course in International Key Account Management. One of the instructors suggested he get in touch with Logent. He did.
“And as they say, the rest is history.”
Fifteen years of new challenges
Mikael began his career at Logent in sales, but within just a few months he was offered the opportunity to take on a site management role. Over the years, his career has taken him through business development, sales and key account management, working closely with customers, ports and international networks. The role has changed many times, but new opportunities have always emerged within the same company.
“Logent has always valued initiative. If you see an opportunity and can explain your thinking, you’ll usually get the chance to pursue it. That’s what has kept the job interesting. No two years have ever been the same.”
Today, his focus is on developing key customer relationships, managing commercial negotiations and ensuring smooth cooperation between customers and Logent.
“I’m particularly proud of having helped build and maintain long-term customer relationships. Trust is earned through actions. Customers need to see that we actually deliver on the values we talk about.”
According to Mikael, everything starts with understanding the customer’s business.
“Understanding the customer’s business is the foundation of everything. That’s why it’s so rewarding to see strong customer satisfaction results. They tell you, in very concrete terms, whether you’ve succeeded in what you set out to do.”
Over the years, Mikael has also become one of the colleagues people turn to when they need experience or a second opinion on a difficult issue.
“I like it when people reach out because something is stuck. If I can help find a solution or even provide another perspective, I feel I’ve done my job well.”
Growing alongside the company
A lot has changed during Logent’s twenty-year history, and many of those changes have been reflected in Mikael’s own career. The company’s expansion into new markets has been one of the most significant developments during his time with Logent.

Despite the growth, he believes the fundamentals remain unchanged.
“A lot has changed over the years, but the basics haven’t. You need to know your service, know your customer and understand their business. Once you do that, you can identify where you can create real value. That’s still what it’s all about.”
According to Mikael, professional development never happens in isolation. Throughout his career, he has learned from the people around him.
“One of Logent’s strengths has always been the opportunity to learn from experienced people. Over the years I’ve worked with colleagues and managers who encouraged me to think outside the box and have the courage to pursue new opportunities.”
His long experience also provides perspective on how the logistics industry has evolved. While digitalisation, automation and artificial intelligence dominate today’s discussions, he believes people remain essential.
“Technology is developing at an incredible pace, and that’s only natural. But logistics is still a people business. Data is only valuable if someone can turn it into meaningful decisions. And when the algorithms don’t know what to do, people are still needed to solve the problem.”
People make the workplace
Over fifteen years, Mikael has been involved in countless projects, customer meetings and industry changes. Yet when asked what has kept him at Logent for so long, his answer comes back to the people.
According to him, Logent attracts people from many different backgrounds. Some are taking their first steps in their careers, while others bring decades of experience. What unites them is their mindset.
“We have people from all kinds of backgrounds, but they share the same attitude. People here want to learn, develop and find better ways of doing things.”
Of course, there’s also room for humour in everyday working life.
“My colleagues have put up with my sense of humour for many years. Or at least they’ve pretended to.”
Behind the joke lies a more serious reason why the work has remained meaningful year after year.
“What I value most is the freedom to manage my own work. Trust has always been a strong part of Logent’s culture, and it’s one of the main reasons I’ve enjoyed working here for so long.”
As Logent celebrates its 20th anniversary, Mikael looks to the future with the same optimism that has followed him throughout his career.
“One of this company’s strengths has always been its ability to grow and seize new opportunities. I hope that continues for the next twenty years as well.”
And what advice would he give someone considering a career at Logent?
“Take initiative. Seize opportunities. Do your thing.”
